Lithium vs AGM Batteries:

Many Caravan and RV owners are replacing their AGM battery with a lithium battery.  Here is why:

Battery Benefits
A lithium battery has almost double the life cycle of an AGM battery. As a result, you will need to replace an AGM much quicker than a lithium.  In the long run lithium cost less, is significantly lighter (up to 70% lighter and small than AGM) so reduces your overall tare weight and is more environmentally sustainable with a reduction of landwaste. 

Depth of Discharge (DoD)

Typically, Lithium batteries have a higher at 80% DoD, while compared to an AGM at 50% DoD.

In practical terms a 100Ah lithium battery will give you 80 Usable Amp Hours, while a 100Ah AGM battery will only give you 50 Usable Amp Hours. 

Capacity:

Lithium and AGM batteries do not provide the same Amp Hours in the same capacity. Lithium batteries provide more energy in a smaller capacity. For example:

125 Ah of Lithium = 200 Ah of AGM

200 Ah of Lithium = 360 Ah of AGM

300 Ah of Lithium = 480 Ah of AGM
