The installer had made numerous critical mistakes that rendered the system ineffective and unable to meet our client's expectations.

The Enerdrive 2000W inverter was upgraded to an Enderive 2600W inverter, but the installer failed to upgrade the cables; they were underrated for the load.

Why is it important to use the correct cables size when installing an inverter in a caravan?

It is crucial to use the correct cable size when installing an inverter in a caravan because undersized cables can lead to excessive voltage drop. This voltage drop reduces the load capacity of the inverter, causing it to trip or shut down prematurely, even before reaching its expected output. This is especially important when using 240V appliances, as the inverter may not be able to deliver the necessary power, leading to frustrating interruptions during your camping experience.

Why Is Upgrading Battery Cable Sizes Essential When Installing an Inverter in Your Caravan?

When upgrading the inverter, the installer neglected to upgrade the cable sizes for the two paralleled Enerdrive BTec Lithium batteries. This oversight resulted in a diminished overall output from the batteries, ultimately reducing the expected capacity of the caravan's power system. Properly sized cables are essential to ensure optimal performance and efficiency in the power system.

What Are the Consequences of Incorrectly Installing MPPT Solar Charger Controller in Caravan 12v setup?

The previous installer also added a Victron Smart Solar MPPT Charger Controller, but unfortunately, it was not installed correctly. The cables used were undersized for the output of the regulator, leading to reduced performance and causing issues with battery recharging and management. This improper installation effectively diminishes the battery's amperage.

The Enerdrive DCDC charger was relocated to a position where the screen was impossible to read, requiring the client to use a mirror to see it. To make matters worse, the installer failed to reconnect it to the system, which directly answers the question: 'Why isn’t the DCDC charger charging the batteries while towing the caravan?'"
