How To Set-Up Your Caravan For Off-Grid Camping Around Australia.

Our clients’, @lappin_livin_lovin_it/ knew that travelling in their Leader Gold Caravan - Family Bunk around Australia with two young children would be challenging at times, especially with two young children.
It was important to them to have power to run the air-conditioner, especially for daytime naps. They also wanted the ability to use a coffee machine, charge laptops, drones, and use other electronic devices while off-grid.
Their Leader Gold Caravan came with a basic 12 volt power system, which included a 200Ah Enerdrive lithium battery, Enerdrive DCDC Charger and 340W solar. Awesome for camping at caravan parks, however as our clients plan to do a lap of Australia and camp off-grid at remote locations (where no mains power is available), they came to us for an off-grid upgrade.
The quality Enerdrive lithium battery and other quality components were utlised in the caravan power upgrade. To start, we relocated the existing battery and DC2DC charger to under the seat where we installed additional chargers, solar regulators, and an inverter. More solar was added to ensure rapid recharge of the batteries and a battery monitoring system was added for ease of managing power input and power load output.
Off-Grid Caravan Solar and Lithium Battery Setup
Overall, we installed a caravan solar and lithium battery system with 400Ah of battery power and 880W of solar panels and a 2600W inverter. The caravan power system has the capability to run 240V appliance off grid without the need to plug into mains power.
Now @lappin_livin_lovin_it have 240V POWER ANYWHERE they camp their caravan. They can stay off-grid and run their air-conditioner while the children sleep, plus in the mornings can brew a coffee without ever having to plug into mains power.
